The tide that recedes for miles leaving only traces of sea water, an unstoppable force that is as majestic as humbling. It is the back drop to living in this part of the world, an animate personality forever changing, channeling, concealing and marveling. I would soon learn that the tides would have a great impact on the sound, affecting the vibrancy and reverberation of the notes. The full tide deadened the echoes and accentuated a darker bottom end bass tonality while the empty tide left a lot of air and room for the notes to feel livelier, jumping out of the instrument and reflecting in a circular way, giving each attack a life of it's own.
